UNREQUITED LOVE

Oh! friend of mine,

Is it really mean,

to ask 'will you be mine?'

you are divine....

what is here to gain,

without you I mean,

Is it such a pain,

to hear my pine(longing),

as so plain?

I will be fine,

if you are benign(kind&gentle),

but if you arraign(indict/accuse my love),

I should be keen,

to be slain,

It is a bean(exuberant, lively)that your nose,

being aquiline(eagle like shaped nose)

Am I looking asinine(stupid)

having rotten brain?

You made me glean(acquire)

all these yearn(compassion)

I wish you are akin,

but you think am alien.

Oh! when will I be alone,

with you in an alpine(mountains)?

you stream through all my vein,

I'm like a vine(climbing plant),

living by your grin,

If I'm a misfortune (to you)

I'll die in vain....

pretty soon....

You aren't wine,

not heroin....

not even heroine...

but an evergreen pine,

you drain.....

the soul of mine....

out of me fine!

But, will you love me.....

I mean.....

my dear wren(a song bird)

  1. Praba,
What can I comment about? Should I comment about your vocabulary? (But I have told a lot about your english knowledge and anyone who reads your blogs will realize your english knowledge) Or should I understand and appreciate the real meaning of the peom? You wont believe me. But I got a slight gooseflesh when I read that. I saw the soul of the song, not the body of the poem.

  2. I wrote this with a dictionary in hand. I'm sure I would have wrote much more complex poem if I had a digital searchable dictionary... hahahaha....
